As the cartologist records distance and height
Then jots out a map to show others the way
The bard is a witness of happenings and plight
When plots become tales to lead listeners astray

Just as an atlas is infallible today
So is a story it shows of a way
Giving a kind of happiness and hope
It lives in minds, helps people cope

Some tales are told through music or song
Come warm from the cold, queue for its throng
Some adorn pots in respect of the tale
Fired are the shots but the memory won't fail
